At Degono HQ, nothing gets us in the festive mood like Christmas coffees.
It's an old favourite, but we're looking forward to trying a new suggestion this year from Coffee Affection.
It's easy to do, so please don't be put off by what seems like a long list of ingredients! Spending a few minutes making this festive treat really is worth it and we hope you love it as much as we do.
For the ingredients, Coffee Affection recommends:
¾ cup of whipping cream or heavy cream
1 cup of coffee grounds
2 tsp of ground cinnamon
1½ tbsp of powdered sugar
5 tsp of ground cardamom
1 tsp of ground nutmeg
1-2 tbsp of brandy
1 tbsp of sugar
7 cups of water
Cocoa powder, cinnamon, or chocolate syrup (optional)
Starting with the decadent festive topping, add whipping cream to a medium mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
Now add the powdered sugar and brandy and beat with an electric mixer until the peaks have hardened, before setting it aside.
Next, add the ground coffee, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar to a small mixing bowl and mix.
Once the coffee has brewed, pour equal servings into mugs or decorative glasses.
And for the festive finale, top each cup with a dollop of the whipped cream mixture.
You can really go to town and add sprinkles of chocolate powder, cinnamon or even syrup to the whipped cream.
It's a festive treat you can enjoy any time and it's a lovely treat for friends and family.
And of course, there's nothing stopping you from corrupting it with your favourite tipple to really get into the festive spirit!
We hope you enjoy it as much as we do and would love to year about your Christmas coffee creations.
